The Sailing Buckeyes Yacht Club invites you to participate in the 2017 Atwood Cup Regatta. The purpose of this Regatta is twofold: to raise funds for the Junior Sailing Program on Atwood Lake but more importantly to have FUN!  This year all proceeds from the regatta will be donated to the Junior Sailing Program chaired by our own Gary Lenhart. Your donations will be funneled through the MWCD Foundation’s fund specifically earmarked for the Junior Sailing Program and will be tax deductible.

You do not have to be an SBYC member to participate so ask a friend with a boat to join us. Participation awards and trophies will be presented in the Pavilion at approximately 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 followed by dinner*.  Trophies will be presented for first, second, and third places in each division.

The Regatta will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Atwood Lake.

Schedule  

Skippers’ Meeting ……………10:00 AM in the Pavilion

Start of Race ………………..….12:00 PM

Course …………………………..…To be announced at the Skippers’ Meeting

End of Regatta ………………… Five laps within time limit of 4:00 PM

Divisions

  1. Racer-Cruiser I (Cruising boats with higher speed potential and spinnakers)
  2. Cruiser II (Cruising boats LOA 25 feet or greater; JAM division)
  3. Cruiser III (Cruising boats LOA less than 25 feet; JAM division)

Entry Fees ………………… $10.00 per yacht plus sponsor sheet

~All yachts must be sponsored for at least $5.00 per lap. The Regatta will consist of 5 laps.  Sponsor sheets should be completed by race day.  Skippers should collect all funds and return them to Janice Marcinak-Hupp on F-dock (Sylvester) or mail: 7142 Elgin Dr. SW, Sherrodsville, OH 44675 no later than July 4, 2014.

*Dinner                                                                                                                                                       Prepared by Big Louie’s BBQ.  $12 for adults, kids are free.                                                                    

 Dinner includes hardwood smoked pork, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and watermelon. Please plan to bring a desert items to share.
